The SENANI Hotel is on the hills of Kandy, surrounded by tree and vegetation. Is a very chic Hotel with swimming pool and nice view on the valley. The dinner start at 7.30 pm with a big buffet where the choices are various: I start with a soup of leek and potatoes that was creamy and tasty. The table with the salads was full of different kind of bread and vinaigrette for the dressing and the salads offered were green lettuce, chicken with apple and pineapple, mix salad with onion and green beans etc . Under the cloches there was either Continental and Indian food; the roasted chicken with mushroom and wine sauce was very good, tender and juicy; the finger fish served with Bearnaise sauce, crunchy and golden. You can also eat spaghetti with Bolognese sauce, but for an Italian like me, mix the spaghetti with the sauce directly in the plate was not a good idea...... The Bavarian Restaurant and Pub is an German establishment in Colombo - Sri Lanka- from 1983. Is a typical German Pub, with  tables and chairs in plain wood, cold and discrete lights, and a fantastic menu . You can choose from steak, sausage platters,  burgers, pork, beef, chicken or also vegetables plates, all of that accompanied with a cocktail or fresh beer, imported or local. The portion are very big : I took the pork schnitzel (a flat steak coated in bread crumb and fry), with mushroom sauce, fried potato and a little salad, and was difficult arrive till the end of it ... but was amazing. The burgers are also huge: between two buns you'll have a double beef burger, a fried egg, onion ring, tomato, lettuce, cheese and fried potato aside. The ambiance is clean and very comfortable and the service is fast. The quality of the food match the amount that you pay: a dinner for two is around LKR 4000/-,  but is worthy. 

This place is famous because the butter chicken masala was invented here. I went there during a holiday in Delhi and this place is amazing.  We ordered Tangi Kabab  with Chicken pulao and the meat was so tender and perfectly marinated that was melting in the mouth. For dessert they serve us the hot  Gulab jamun..I'm not a fun of sweet but this one was...to die for!

MARGARITA'S                                  We decide to try the new Mexican restaurant just open in Pondicherry. When we arrive, we were pleasantly surprised by discovering the ambience with a red colored wall and multicolour lamps on the ceiling that gave a hot but at the same time, intimate atmosphere. Behind the counter, the barman was busy to prepare some mock tails in the same style of Mexico, like Margarita’s, Pina Colada and Mojito, but without alcohol…at the end was just a fancy way to drink lime soda or coconut. The waiter approaches us with the menu’ and we start to read about the speciality offered by the restaurant. There are a lot of dishes to choose from like Burritos, Enchiladas, Nachos, Fajitas and the options are vegetarian, lamb, chicken or sea food. Unfortunately the restaurant doesn’t serve beef and for a Mexican place is really a disappointment. Anyway ...

If you are a chicken lover, this is the place for you! From the moment that you enter in the restaurant, the chicken become the only hero: from the colourful pictures on the wall to the menu, everything invite you to taste and enjoy the multiple choises  they you can find here. The waiter that served us was a very nice lady that explained all the different varieties of grilled chicken, flamed chicken, kebabs, salads and more and more. We where 5 people then we decide to try 5 different plates and our expectations where fulfilled at  the maximum.....The chicken was tender and full of flavour, the salad had an amazing dressing that complement perfectly all the ingredients and the kebab was so juicy that when we cut it and eat the meat was melting in the mouth.  Surely this is a restaurant that I will remember for a long time and I recommend to everybody, not only for the fantastic culinary experience, but also for the courtesy and professionality of the staff. Don't expect a fancy or cosy restaurant...here the tables are in melamine and there are no cutlery but what's matter is the food! Here you can eat a super tasty biryani , not spicy but full of flavor. The "Special Parotha" is the speciality of the house: big double than the normal ones, is crunchy on the outside and fluffy inside, perfect to eat with the Prawns Onion Fry or the Paneer Butter Masala. Worthy of mention are the finger fish. In many other restaurants you will eat fish sticks that are machine cut....but here are all in different size, meaning that are hand made and the batter with which they are covered is deliciously crunchy and well seasoned.
